Why We Should Say "Physical Distancing"

Image
Here are some other articles that my post will most likely reiterate:  https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/wired-love/202004/social-vs-physical-distancing-why-it-matters https://www.geisinger.org/health-and-wellness/wellness-articles/2020/04/08/13/47/social-distancing-vs-physical-distancing#:~:text=While%20%E2%80%9Csocial%20distancing%E2%80%9D%20is%20still,from%20others%2C%E2%80%9D%20says%20Dr. *For those who suffer from mental health concerns and have been reserving their peace, this one is for you* I want to shout it on the mountain top...   START SAYING PHYSICAL DISTANCING! In this post, I will focus on the mindset and psychological portion to the best of my intellectual ability and anticipation. Telling (and bullying, which I will get to in another post) people to make sure they are "social distancing" is subconsciously being insensitive. We have to be honest that when we go out in public, we are attempting to keep our PHYSICAL bodies distanced from...

The Chronicles of Racial Battle Fatigue (2017)

(Edited; Originally set to post in 2017) Please keep in mind that this information is based on some facts and from experiences. Do not take anything as personal or as an attack on white people or white culture. Neither do I find myself superior to or discriminatory against the Caucasian race; prejudices and stereotypes may be shared. If you do not know or understand what these words mean (they are often confused with one another), please feel free to ask through comments or simply open another tab/look them up in the dictionary. Here is a message to my white friends: "There are a lot of things I must educate you on but feel as though it would not be worth it. You have made the focus and played victim for so long for issues that do not directly impact you but the fact is you are the problem. I will not keep my mouth shut and honestly, now that I have gone to college and about to receive my degree, I have learned many more things and experiences that I have yet to share w...

I Run (for Ahmaud Arbery)

I am a woman in her mid 20's. I have a profound love for the arts. Painting, dancing, live music, movies, you name it! I love life and the Creator of Life. I spend most of my mornings praying, studying the Bible, listening to Spontaneous worship music, cooking breakfast,  and teasing my dog that he can't eat "people food as I can." My afternoons are spent completing certifications online to improve my skills that I can apply to my business in organizational development and event coordination. In the evenings, I have meetings, cook dinner, and my love-hate relationship for exercise, especially running.  I have my family, friends, church family, roommates, and a dog who look forward to me arriving home and being safe... Yet, I am faced with a dilemma. Though these people care about me and my well-being, any of them nor I can change my skin color.  The fact that my skin is black in a society that disapproves of the darker skin race, along with continuous examples of ra...
