A Step to Change-- Action required!

Hi,

I, as well as countless Americans, feel as though police officers and sheriffs need to be held MORE accountable for their actions and force used in EVERY arrest, case, traffic stop, etc. to ensure that their jobs of protecting Americans are fulfilled. We need to feel safer with the sight and presence of police officers than feeling more in danger with them.

That's why I created a petition to The South Carolina State House, The South Carolina State Senate, Governor Nikki R. Haley, The United States House of Representatives, The United States Senate, and President Barack Obama, which says:

"Please sign this petition for the United States government to REQUIRE Public Safety committees in every county, city, and or state in order to hold police departments and officers accountable for their actions and accusations against them. Including but not limited to the following: reviewing any cases against an officer for racial profiling, reviewing complaints and legal investigation of unlawful acts, ensure that police officers are not abusing their power & authority that violates police policy, and ensure peace and resolution between police officers and civilians by promoting community unity and police cooperation. Please refer to the following link for more information on civilian oversight: http://www.vera.org/sites/default/files/resources/downloads/Civilian_oversight.pdf
